What You Will Learn

In this masterclass, Silvia Levenson will share with you her creative process through the analysis of her works and those of different artists. Together you will explore different ways to approach working with glass, and question why we choose to do so. This course does not contain any technical demonstrations, but instead is a series of thought exercises to challenge and foster your creative process.

During this course, you will be set tasks to analyse and evaluate your own work, your influences and techniques. You will consider questions such as; Which artists do you admire? How does an object change once it's made of glass? You will send your findings to Glass School or Silvia so they can be shared each week during the live session for Silvia and other peers to respond to.

Through the evaluation of presenting works Silvia will discuss and advise when it comes to applications for shows, relationships with dealers and artist statements. You will learn about the journey that Silvia Levenson has been on as an artist who had no formal training in art or glass. Silvia had to emigrate at 23 years old with two children from Buenos Aires to Italy, and today her sculpture is in the most important glass collections in the world.
